OnStage Display Board Application

Occasionally Stampin' Up! requests submissions for display board stampers for upcoming events.  I will be attending the OnStage local event in Hartford, CT, and it's always great fun to play with new product.  So I thought I'd pull a blog post together showing off some recent favorites, and something new at the end too!

Greeting Cards:

When the Holiday Catalog came out, I went right to the warm coffee images of Coffee Cafe, using CAS Colours & Sketches #325.  You can almost taste the liquid gold!

Stampin' Up Merry Cafe
Once the Holiday Catalog arrives, the Annual Catalog gets tossed aside.  So I dedicated some quality time playing with Pieces & Patterns, using the sketch from TGIF Challenge #116.  I love the bubbly background and these playful images!

I wanted to put the images from Seaside Shore in a fish bowl, but what if you don't have a stamp image?  No problem!  Make your own with some circle framelits. The ombre sheets from Color Theory DSP are good for backgrounds, as well as stamping directly onto it in order to get images with a gradient of color (used for yellow tang fish).

Three-Dimensional Projects:

Here is a couple different flavors of a quick and easy teacher or neighbor gifts.  These little packages can hold a couple Starbucks VIA coffee packets or a fun-sized candy bar.  Why are the smaller sized candies fun?  I don't get it!  But I digress...

My daughter gave the Wood Words ones out to her class when we moved (to our new farm) and switched schools, tucking in her contact information.  Perfect for a farm theme.  She didn't hand out coffee to school children - that would be rude!  :)

Using the Envelope Punch Board, start with a 5 x 5" piece of card stock, punch and score at 2". Rotate CCW, and punch and score at 3". Repeat again on the last two sides at 2" and 3".

After playing around with the shadow box concept, I applied it to create a "book box" for teachers gifts. I was impressed with how sturdy these came out.

Following the instructions used for the first shadow box, I altered the measurements by starting with a 8-1/2 x 10-3/8" piece of Very Vanilla card stock, and I scored every 5/8".  The card stock cover is 5-3/4 x 8-1/8", scored at 3-3/4" from either end.

Scrapbook Page:

My favorite scrapbook pages are 6 x 6", focusing on one photo.  And I really love the buffalo check pattern.  I had my mom make me buffalo check flannel sheets when I was a teenager.  I thought that paper would be great with a pop of pink.

Using the upcoming Occasions catalog item Picture Perfect Paper Ribbon as inspiration, I created my own custom color with Flirty Flamingo card stock and a sewing machine. Isn't that fun?

Stamps: Words of Truth; Paper: Powder Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Basic Black, Whisper White, Merry Little Christmas DSP; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Iridescent Sequin Assortment, Silver Mini Sequin Trim, Quilt Builder Framelits, Big Shot, Sewing Machine, Thread, Dimensionals.

So, what do you think? Any good??

Stampin' Up Brightly Lit Christmas

A quick bicycle-themed Christmas card, which is actually a "get well" card for a cycling friend.  But 'tis the season to send a Christmas card.

Stampin' Up! Brightly Lit Christmas
Just a couple layers, this one is easy to put together.  I used Freshly Made Sketches #316 as a starting point.

The card is destined for a town, which has decorated lamp posts, and I've met friends along the main street, during the Christmas season, to go cycling.  It is a pretty applicable scene.

Stamps: Brightly Lit Christmas, Enjoy the Ride (Darkroom Door); Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black; Ink: Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate, Memento Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Aquapainter, Sponges.

The Stamp Review Crew: Wood Words

Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop: Inspiring you one stamp set at a time

Welcome to another Stamp Crew Review Blog Hop!  We share our take on a selected stamp set every first and third Monday.  This week we are focusing on a hot item from the main catalog, Wood Words, which coordinates with the Wood Crate Framelits.  If you are following the hop in order, you have just arrived from the lovely Lou Kitzelman's blog.

When we moved to our farm in September, my daughter wanted to make good-bye treats for her class, which she could also tuck in her forwarding contact information.  You know, because you always have time to pump out 30 treats when you are shoulder deep in boxes, right?

Stampin' Up! Wood Words
So we went with the farm theme on some packaging for Kit Kat bars.  To create, start with a 5 x 5" piece of card stock, punch and score at 2" with the Envelope Punch Board. Rotate CCW, and punch and score at 3". Repeat again on the last two sides at 2" and 3".

Stampin' Up! Wood Words
Stamps: Wood Words; Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Wood Textures DSP; Ink: Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso; Accessories: Very Vanilla Baker's Twine, 1" Circle Punch, Envelope Punch Board, Wood Crate Framelits, Big Shot, Dimensionals.

I've been looking at some farmhouse style signs on Etsy and other places, and it got me thinking about a kitchen or foyer wall hanging.

Stampin' Up! Wood Words
After creating the framed sign, and backed it with a piece of thin die-cut cardboard to result in a thick focal point.

Stamps: Wood Words; Paper: Early Espresso, Basic Black, Wood Textures DSP, Cardboard; Ink: Crumb Cake, Whisper White Craft, Versamark; Accessories: Pearl Jewels, Linen Thread, Silver Mini Brad, White Embossing Powder, Sponges, Hearth & Home Framelits, Big Shot.

ICYMI, here are a couple other projects I have created with Wood Words.

Hop on over to the fabulous Natalie Lapakko's blog to see what fun projects she has put together with this week's set.

SSC167 Welcome Home!

Hello There!  Time for another Sunday Stamps challenge.  This week is color week.  These ones always get me thinking...

I matched up the colors in My Digital Studio to Cherry Cobbler, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, and Tangelo Twist.  Always fun to use retired colors!  And I started off by finding some DSP in those colors and worked from there.

Stampin' Up! At Home with You
Matching up the flowers in the paper, I broke out my At Home with You set for the first time.  I'm a sucker for a door image and scene builder.  And I used Freshly Made Sketches #311 as a starting point.  I added some glue from the Fine Tip Glue Pen to create shiny holly berries.

Stampin' Up! At Home with You
We should be closing on our old house in the next days, so I think I'll save this card for the new owners.

Here's this week's challenge. Use a minimum of 3 colors and a neutral of your choice. I hope you'll join us!
